Raul Tomșa is another one of my young friends at Elim Church in Chicago. Part of the Youth leadership team and a young preacher, Raul is one of those kind, generous and… conservative rarities in this generation. We have a few of those, and we will make possible for all of them to write on this blog. Here’s his article:
We learn in our history classes of Nazi propaganda that was promoted by Joseph Goebbels under Adolf Hitler. How, through methods such as indoctrinating children in the Hitler Youth, the Nazis were able to teach anti-Semitism, the superiority of the Aryan race, and the belief that the Third Reich will last a thousand years. We Romanians know of communist propaganda; I for one did not experience it, but my parents did.
Nowadays, we have become accustomed to a certain way of life. We live in a „free society” that allows every individual his or her right to the „pursuit of happiness”. And, I would like to add, that I am grateful for the United States and its founders who fought for and built a nation where men can go about there business and practice whatever religion they want, raise their children however they wanted, own private property, and so on and so forth. But, you see, many people today are trying to slowly take away these liberties and there is something below the surface that looks to swallow us up whole. I believe there is indoctrination through certain propaganda that is right under our noses and we do too little sometimes to limit and prevent the damages caused.
Our schools have become very dangerous places over the years. Anti-Christian propaganda is the norm. Just this week in my sociology class, I was taught about Emile Durkheim’s book „Suicide”. After a long research process, Durkheim came to the realization that of Catholics, Protestants, and Jews, white Protestant males are most likely to commit suicide. Why? Well according to my professor, Catholics go to confession where a priest helps the struggling soul with whatever he might be going through. Jews are a tight knit community so they help each other out. But our poor Protestant male has no intermediary and all he has is his prayers, which God doesn’t answer. The Theory of Evolution at its base isn’t just about a so-called science. It, in fact, brings people to the realization that they are nothing more than intelligent animals and that their life is meaningless. And there are countless other examples of how the system is used to corrupt our minds into straying from God. Let me be clear, I am not an anti school revolutionary; I am merely trying to encourage vigilance.
To parents, church leaders, and all brothers and sisters that are more advanced in age I urge you not to forget the words written in Deuteronomy 6:1-9. God commands the children of Israel to obey His commandments and pass them on to their children. To „keep the faith” as some might say. I implore all of you to keep tabs on we the young people. Keep us on the right path and in God’s will.
To young people, I can think of no better verse than that of 1 Timothy 4:12.
The verse says to be an example through believers but I say we do the same in the world as well. So many time we allow ourselves to be bulldozed by the teachings of this society and the plan it has for our lives. The intellectuals of this world will despise you for being a child of God and will do anything to bring you into their camp. Stand up firm, study the word of God, seek help from brothers and sisters in the church when going through hard trials or sins you might not be able to shake off. Please, don’t let yourself be indoctrinated in the godless mindset of this world. Be salt and light for the Lord and he will bless us abundantly with life ever lasting.

Îmi place sa cred ca ar fi fost foarte oportuna şi postarea în limba romana avînd în vedere că aveţi foarte mulţi vizitatori care nu stapînim limba engleză pe măsura înţelegerii corecte a tuturor cuvintelor şi expresiilor folosite in varianta în limba engleză.Dealtfel aceasta opinie o susţin şi pentru cateva din articolele postate anterior tot în limba engleză.Frate pastor doresc sa luaţi părerea mea ca o simplă sugestie şi nu critic deoarece apreciez foarte mult nivelul ridicat al blogului D-tra şi mi-ar face plăcere să-l savurez în întregime.Consider că blogul D-tră este oaza virtuală de fiecare zi a celor ce dorim să ne hrănim sufletele noastre în părtăşie de zi cu zi cu hrană spirituală de calitate.Aceasta opinie o susţin şi pentru comentatorii postărilor care uneori ne vitregesc de înţelegere folosind doar limba engleză ( fără traducerea comentariilor şi citatelor folosite )mai ales că venim pe bloguri creştine pe care le ştim romăneşti. Domnul să vă binecuvinteze pentru această lucrare pentru care adevarata răsplată o să o luaţi doar în veşnicie. Mult har si pace sfanta in Domnul ISUS.

Ai dreptate Raul, problema in( multe cazuri)nu este cu scoala,ci este cu parintii, care in loc de un payment de 500 de dolari la un BMW sau 2000 de dolari la un castel, ar putea sa foloseasca acei bani sa-si trimita copii la o scoala crestina.Ne vindem copii pe un blid de linte( read car, vacation, house, clothes).. Nu demult am vorbit cu un frate care era interesat sa-si trimeata copilul la o scoala crestina, dar cind a auzit ca costa 4500 pe an s-a retras, ca e prea scump. Dupa o luna isi cumpara un pickup cu $20000 in care mai „baga” peste 5 mii ca sa i puna roti mari si telescoape sa poata sa stea cu trei inches mai sus. Go figure..
Sa nu mai vorbesc de bisericile noastre, care in loc ca isi petreaca tot timpul cu coruri , grupuri , orchestre, fanfare,laudarosi cu inchinare, ar putea sa inceapa cursuri cu adevarata stiinta, cea creationista, ca tinerii nostri as poata sa fie echipati sa stie sa raspunda cind aceste indoctrinari umaniste sint introduse in scoala.
O statistica interesanta de la Ken Ham,(Creation Museum, Kentucky), MAJORITATEA tinerilor isi pierd credinta in middle school si high scholl( nu college), si principalul motiv este creatia/evolutia. La Sunday School li se spune povesti biblice cu desene animate ,pe cind la scoala sint indoctrinati cu „stiinta” evolutionista.
Dar cel putin in biserica au fost invatati sa cinte…
Si daca parintii sint depasiti, pastorii ar trebui sa incerce „to limit the damage”.
Numai ca programul de duminica tre sa mearga , sa fie bogat, nu avem timp…

Daca toti romanii din America ar fi inteles ca ei, parintii, si nu pastorii sau profesorii, sint responsabili de educatia copiilor lor, alta ar fi acum situatia cu copiii nostri. Stiu si eu prea multe exemple de copii romani ajunsi in lume caci parintii au neglijat educatia spirituala pe care, ca preoti in familiile lor, trebuiau sa le-o dea acasa.
Un pastor, oricit de bun ar fi el, nu poate reversa (sau macar balansa) intr-o duminica ceea ce invata copiii intr-o sapatamina. Nu ma refer doar la evolutie vs. creatie ci la tot ce tine de „social studies” – unde se promoveaza indeobste ideile anti-crestine pe care majoritatea copiilor din scolile publice deja le-au imbratisat: acceptarea diversitatii si tolerantei de toate felurile (mai ales de ordin sexual) avorturilor, multiculturalismului etc. plus multe idei de stinga, “man caused global warming”, samd.
Sint inca destui romani care se considera „realizati” in functie de marimea casei si tipul masinilor pe care le conduc si nu de nivelul spiritual al copiilor lor.
Doar tirziu isi vor da seama de acest mare adevar:
„No amount of succes can make up for failure at home!” (in traducerea mea libera: „nici un succes nu poate compensa pentru esecul in familie”).

Versetul spune ca a fi un exemplu, prin credincioşi, dar eu zic sa facem la fel şi în lume, precum. Deci, timp de multe ne permitem să fie demolat de învăţăturile de această societate şi a planului are pentru viaţa noastră. Intelectualii din această lume te va dispreţui pentru a fi un copil al lui Dumnezeu si vor face orice să te aducă în tabăra lor. Ridică-te ferm, studiul cuvântul lui Dumnezeu, cere ajutor de la fraţi şi surori în biserică atunci când trec prin încercări greu sau păcate ar putea să nu fie în măsură să se scuture. Vă rugăm, nu te lăsa îndoctrinaţi în mentalitatea acestei lumi fără Dumnezeu. Fi sare şi lumină pentru Domnul şi el ne va binecuvânta din belşug cu durată de viaţă vreodată.

Ai complect dreptate in privința acțiunile al multor părinții. Dar, am atins numai unul dintre misloace prin care societatea indoctrineaza copii și tenerii. Bine înțeles mass media are o parte în indoctrinarea tenerii. Am putea scrie cărți întregi despre acest subiect.
Just a few comments (in English, sorry).
Like Gabi said, the problem starts at home. Parents can’t expect the church, pastors, Sunday school or going to youth group on Friday nights to lead their children to God. It comes down to parents taking time to teach their children from a young age and continuing through adult-hood about the true path to God.
Secondly, coming from a very large family, we didn’t have extravagant things and truthfully my parents couldn’t afford a private Christian school, but somehow we turned out alright. But I do agree that sometimes our priorities on where money is spent is a bit skewed to earthly things.
And lastly, to Fr. Cristi: You used to hold biblical studies with the youth a couple years ago. They were probably some of the most informational sessions I had in theology. There are things you just won’t learn in sermons on Sunday or at Youth group. For those youth and children that can’t attend private Christian schools, it’s the next best thing. Maybe you’ll consider a start-up again.
A couple points in English (sorry).
First, I agree with Raul. It starts with the parents passing down their faith to their children. Parents can’t expect the pastor, church leaders, Sunday school or youth group to lead their children to God. Sure those things are necessary, but if the parents aren’t teaching their children at home on a daily basis about God and the lies of the world, they shouldn’t be surprised when their youth stray away from the church.
Second, not all families can afford to send their children to private Christian schools. Coming from a large family, I know my parents couldn’t and we didn’t live in extravagance. However, it is true that how we prioritize our expenses can be skewed toward the wrong things.
Lastly, a comment to Fr. Cristi: A couple years ago you used to lead biblical studies with the youth in a more intimate setting. I would say that I gained a lot of theological knowledge then that you don’t get from the normal sermons on Sunday. I think this is a great alternative to those that can’t afford to go to Christian schools. It’s like an after school study program. There are the theology classes for the older adults (Ecclessia), but nothing more indepth for the youth. Young minds want to learn. They want to know how to counter the secular beliefs they meet out in the world. But they don’t have anywhere to learn these things. I think it would be a good idea to continue the studies. And it would be a good model for other churches to use.

Here in Romania where i’m from we are starting to have the same problem.First of all i want to tell you that it is hard to counter the evolusionists because they are not stupid they are quite smart,however there are a few glitches in their thinking.First of all,both you and i kept hearing about species dissapearing(tasmanian wolf,aurox)but remarkably none of these species saved itself from exctinction by evolving let’s say into a wolf with kevlar fur that can deflect bullets.And of course there is the mather of dating the fosils.Living penguins dated with potasium argon prouved to be 10000 years old(now that’s a seriosus error).There are also such errors in carbon dating.There are also fosilized trees that have their roots in the triasic and their branches in the Quaternar.Do they really expect me to believe that those trees lived hundreds of milions of years?

I agree Adrian. Atheists and the evolutionists are smart. Therefore we must be just as smart. Many times they know the bible better than us and catch us off guard. You have to know who and what you are fighting in order the win the battle against them.

Personal,eu cred ca autoarea exagereaza de altfel Raul tomsa a trecut prin scoala publica si nu a renuntat la credinta.Dumneavoastra ce spuneti?
Școlile private sunt bune (dacă ai cu ce plăti!).
Homeschooling este foarte bun (dacă te pricepi!).
Toate fetele noastre (zece la număr) au învățat în școli publice. Am fi dorit să ne permitem să le dăm la școli bune, creștine. Acasă, era greu pentru soția mea să mai facă și școală. Este păcat să dai copiii la școli publice? Nu! Ar fi mai bine la private/creștine sau homeschooling dacă… ai cu ce și poți? Da!
Nu inteleg despre ce batalie trebuie sa castigam noi „EVANGHELISTII”?! Isus ne-a trimis sa chemam pe oameni la EL nu sa-i indoctrinam ori sa castigam in disputa noastra „teologica”…Aici e marea problema a unora, avand degetele aratatoare intinse amenintator spre Jimmy Haggard, Osteen, pastor Jake, Iosif Ton, Hillsong, Greg Laurie pana si la Bill Graham ii gasesc nod in papura… dar cand e sa ne aducem la un numitor comun toti suntem trimisi ai Regelui pentru a istorisi altora despre cat de bun e El si nu vrem sa ne petrecem vesnicia izolati in departamente, culturi, limbi, confesiuni ci sa ne unim pentru o cauza comuna: mantuirea celor pierduti!
